Who’s building ftrme, and why
ftrme (future me) is a no-judgment money companion app. It shows where your money goes today and who you could be in 20 years, then gives you one small step a day. No bank login, not a bank, never sells you financial products.
“When I lived in London I needed flatmates to afford rent, and most months I ended up asking friends to lend me money to get to payday. I know that feeling. It sucks.”
Why does ftrme exist?
Before building anything, we studied how people get money help online. We coded the top comments on 48 Reddit threads where someone asked for help. The advice was usually there, but it sat under jokes and judgment, and nobody checked back. Read the study. ftrme is the reply that should’ve been on top, built to stay.
What is ftrme?
- Present Me: where your money goes today, in percentages. No bank login, no payslip.
- Future Me: you in 20 years, the version who made it, showing the road.
- One small step a day: a three-minute action instead of a budget or a lecture.
- At the moment you spend: a 48-hour cooldown at checkout and kind nudges in places you mark.
What isn’t ftrme?
- Not a bank. It never holds or moves your money.
- Not a lender. No cash advances, no credit products.
- Not financial advice. Projections are illustrative (7% a year) and always labelled.
- Not an ad business. We don’t sell your data or recommend products for commission.
How does ftrme make money?
Members pay for it. The private beta has 50 founding seats at $49 for the first year, refundable until your invite. The waitlist is free.
